British actor Bob Hoskins has died from pneumonia at the age of 71.
The star was best known for hit movies including Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Mona Lisa, for which he won Bafta and Golden Globe best actor awards.
In a statement, his wife Linda and children Alex, Sarah, Rosa and Jack said: "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Bob.
"Bob died peacefully in hospital last night, surrounded by family, following a bout of pneumonia.
"We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and thank you for your messages of love and support."

He was born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on October 26, 1942, and made his TV and film debuts in the mid-1970s.
His first major movie role came in 1980's Long Good Friday, in which he played Harold Shand.
As well as 1986's Mona Lisa and Who Framed Roger Rabbit two years later, he also starred in Steven Spielberg's 1991 film Hook.
Leading figures in the entertainment industry were quick to pay tribute to Hoskins on Twitter.
Stephen Fry described him as a "marvellous man", writing: "Oh no, Bob Hoskins. Gone? That's awful news. The Long Good Friday (was) one of the best British movies of the modern era."
Officials at Bafta said they were "deeply saddened" to hear of the actor's death, while Simon Pegg wrote: "Really sad news about Bob Hoskins. Great and varied career."
Vicky McClure, whose TV roles include Broadchurch and Line of Duty, added: "Just heard the very sad news (that) Bob Hoskins has died. He was one of the best. I feel honoured to have met and worked with him. RIP Bob."
