Letter Bomb Sent To NI Secretary Villiers

A letter bomb addressed to Northern Ireland Secretary Theresa Villiers has been found at Stormont Castle, prompting an evacuation.

The building in Belfast, which is used by First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, was evacuated and an army bomb disposal unit sent to the scene.

During the alert, Mr Robinson and dozens of staff were moved to Parliament buildings in Stormont, the seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Because the Assembly is in recess, Mr McGuinness was not in Stormont Castle at the time.
